Brittany FAQs
What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?
Firstly, we strongly advise that you check you have an adequate travel insurance / holiday cancellation policy to cover against the need to cancel your holiday. There are lots of competitively priced policies available and we can supply further information upon request at the time of booking if you need to take up a policy. Deposit payments are non refundable. If you have no alternative but to cancel your holiday, we require written notification, either by post or email, of your request to cancel. As long as this written confirmation is received more than 12 weeks prior to the holiday date, you will not be required to pay the final rental balance. If written request to cancel is received within 12 weeks of the holiday date we require payment of the full balance.
When is the final rental balance required?
The final rental balance is due 12 weeks prior to your holiday and once we are in receipt of this payment we will send all key collection details, full directions etc to you.
What deposit is required?
We require a 30% non refundable deposit payment to secure your booking. For our 3 larger cottages and for group bookings where several small cottages are booked we also require a £300 breakage deposit. All card payments are enabled for repeat payments of balances and/or security/breakage deposits or excessive cleaning is required.
What payment methods do you take?
We accept payment by debit or credit card (visa and mastercard only). There are no additional fees for debit card payments, and just a 2% bank administration fee for credit card transactions.
How do I order a hamper or champagne, chocolates, and flowers package?

Where are the nearest grocery shops?
We suggest that you call into the Booths Supermarket in Ulverston on your way to us, as they stock absolutely everything and also have a good cafe, making it an ideal point to stop and take a break before continuing the last part of your journey. Locally, there is a small post office/shop in Boot village, just opposite us, and in the next village, Eskdale Green, there is a larger shop which has a great deli section and offers a delivery service. Details of opening times, contact telephone numbers and all other supermarkets in the area are to be found in the housebook in your cottage.
Where is the nearest hospital?
The nearest hospital is the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven (Tel: 01946 693181). After bypassing Cockermouth turn left onto the A595 and travel 12 miles to Whitehaven. Keep on the A595 ignoring the signage for the town centre, travel 2 miles passing through traffic lights and turn left at the roundabout. The main entrance of the hospital is on the right 100 yards from the roundabout.
Where is the nearest train station?
To reach us by train, Lancaster is the nearest main line station.
